Thanks for your kind words. Fern was one of the lucky ones. The rescue rep. said the breeder "only" had 70 dogs and they were let out of their cages regularly. The rescue group deals with breeders that have up to 500 dogs. So sad. The rep told me that one breeder had several buildings and the husband & wife team each thought the other was taking care of a particular building--when neither was. When they figured it out more than half of the dogs in that building had died from starvation. It just breaks your heart. Some do it for the money and some...just don't know any better.

Hey Sam, just a short note to tell you how I value your expert advise here :)

Thanks, I was in contact with the breeder again, basically asking her the same thing (just wanted to see what someone else would say too though) and that is pretty much what she told me. She'd said we'd talk more in the next couple of weeks when we are closer to placement. Thanks!

Thank you for your advice. We have done some training with rosa, she knows sits, stays, off, some tricks, but she still does not always listen. Rosa does really well with my neices who are 3 and up. Its like she doesnt know what the baby is, and she has seemed miserable since we have been back. My heart breaks for her, were still trying but its not going very well. She doesnt bark to alert us it seems she is barking at the baby the way she does when she wants to run after a bird. Yesterday my aunt was standing and holding the baby and she tried to jump up and grab the babys feet.

Sam,

Thank You for your advice, I appreciate your input. You had a really good point about walking a dog after being at work. I will have to play ball after work. I just recently started working a couple hours a day, Lance was used to me being home before.

Sam, thank you for your advice on my situation. I came to the same conclusion that you did after typing it out (which always seems to help). The only positive thing I can think of about bringing him home with us is that the new house would be completely new territory. But the hotel wouldn't be. I'm going to stick with our original plan and go pick him up on Thursday. Thanks again!

Hi Sam! I just wanted to let you know I appreciate all of your contribution to the forums. You always offer such good advice! This site has been a great resource for me, and I love the suggestions that experienced corgi owners like you have to offer us newbies!

I was wondering what rescue group you work with, and do they help mix corgis? Also by the way thanks for all the information that you give, it is very cool how much you help people and their dogs out!

I know, you always hope for the best, but it is tough to prepair for the this kind of thing. Losing one is really hard, but 2 then 3 is just heart breaking for us and the mom.
thank you

I will see if i can meet Keri, I'll be pretty easy to spot, Asian with a video camera in hand :) I actually was on the rescue list 2 years ago, I actually talked to Paul Drake, but at that time we were living in a condo and didn't have enough room to foster, now that we have a house, I hope to fence in my yard and we'll be able to take in more. Let me know how i can help with foster or interviewing potential adopters, things might get a little busy for us until January. But keep Silvia and I in mind :)

Hi Sam
Thanks for you input on the puppy mills and puppy store discussion. After what you said, I feel a bit anxious about the purchase of my recent puppy from Petland. -- It says that you are an instructor.
Where at?
