Aaaand we're back with more! The weather outside prohibited further shooting, so we moved it inside. Ace doesn't mind so long as there's dinner involved! ;)

I loved the crossed paws. What a cutie!
You and Ace are great!!
Thank you so much! :D Crossing his paws took a long time. I started working on it when he was around 7 months old, dropped it out of frustration, came back to it around the 1 year mark. It definitely wasn't the easiest trick to teach!
i love the way he crosses his feet back and forth , i wish i had some of the instructions to each mine..
oh my gosh he so awesome!! great training on your part!!
Thanks all. :) As for teaching back-up, I started with an exercise that I think all dogs should be regularly practicing, and that is rear-end awareness. There's tons of videos of it on YT so I won't try to outdo them here with a bunch of text.
Basically, once the dog is consciously moving its back legs around, they can better steer themselves while going in reverse. Ace has been working on rear-end awareness for MONTHS now and he still sometimes veers off course if he's not actively thinking about where he places his feet. It is very easy to learn, but difficult to master. :)
ludi! you must teach me how you taught him to back up like that! Ace is so awesome! keep the videos coming please
Ace is so obedient and well trained. My mind was blown when he was weaving backwards...
