Ace - Impulse Control and Retrieve at 1 year old!

My Ace has been hard at work on impulse control. We work on recalls and giving attention each and every day, whether inside the house or out in the dog park....

This was just one of a few training session that day! All throughout our walk and during his off-leash time, Ace is required to check in with me and do basic behaviors. My issue with the treats is that he'll eat them, he'll eat anything really, but he's not highly motivated by anything other than the raw meat. If I want him to do demanding behaviors like this one, I HAVE to use his raw dinner and nothing short of it. It's icky to have to handle raw beef to work on his emergency recall, but I have resigned myself to that. :(

Love it!  I have a thought about getting Ace to like new treats.  Could you give him the treats instead of him eating his dinner right away, maybe he will be so hungry he won't refuse the treats?  Then after he has eaten some treats then give him his dinner??

Thank you both! I owe it all to Ace. :)
