Hi! Im Izzy in Detroit, Mi. and I am looing for a corgi friend to be a forever home. I just moved to the city, and am alone, I know no one and ave no family out here. I work short hours, am home after 6-8 hours every day. I like to hike, walk and explore the city. I live in a pet friendly apartment, with a gated area, and am on the 4th floor with no elevator. I currently live with a gerbil and a hermit crab.

I have tried to adopt a few corgis from rescues and shelters and they keep promising me pets, saying I passed the adoption assesment and to come out and hours before I arrive the adopt them out to someone else. Im happy for the dogs but my heart is aching. Im hoping one of you guys can help me out :)

Thanks!

sorry so late, if he's still out there I would love to help out!
yay, I was so hoping you would see this post!!!  Heres hoping that this could work for you.

Hey!  Im glad your still looking!  I don't know if you read the full discussion on the other post I had going on, but he is an 8 month old tri-color un-neutered male.  The people who owned him did not do anything with him. Did not play with him, train him. Im pretty sure they just left him outside or in a crate or back room.  Well, he isnt definitely still available, and you would actually be my first choice for him.  Money is very tight for us right now, and I just cant afford to get him up to date with records to get him to a corgi rescue.  Let me know what you think, or if you have any other questions.

is he housetrained? Thats my biggest thing as I dont have a yard he can stay in all day :)

Im not sure if you looked, but I did mention below that he wasn't properly potty trained.  He goes outside, but he does not let you know when nor does he hold it.  He is a very smart boy, and Im sure he would pick up very quickly like most corgi's tend to do.  But if that makes you uncomfortable at all, know that there are other possibilities for him.  Ive had an offer from someone right here in Saginaw experienced with Corgis, that has offered to take him and foster him and get him potty trained before adopting him out.  We can all stay in contact throughout the fostering process, and maybe if the stars line up, you can adopt him once he is trained.

Hey one more note. I mentioned in the other discussion that he wasn't properly potty trained.  He is with my father right now, who is older and doesn't have the patience or energy to really train him.  He does his best to put him outside a lot throughout the day, but there are still accidents. Im not sure if this would be an issue for you since you do live in an apartment on the fourth floor?
