About leaving the house just to run errands? Leaving the babies at home without anyone there? I hate to leave the house. They are so glad to see me when I return that I drop everthing and start to play right away.

I had to leave Ella for 4 hours a couple weeks ago and that was hard because she had to be crated. I made sure she had gone out to potty, made up a fun treat for her to play with while I was gone, and made sure her crate had extra toys and fresh water before I left. She was fine when I came back. I work at home for a couple hours every day out in our "shop" so she is crated for those 2 hours but she is now on that schedule and if for some reason, I don't go to work, she still takes that same time to nap! I'm always watching the clock when I leave..., thinking.. "how long have we been gone?" we have to get home and let the dogs out.... it's restricting at times, but they are worth it!
I always feel bad leaving Clue home, sometimes I just take him with me. He loves car rides.
I don't really feel guilty so much as I just hate to leave! We live out in the country and homeschool, plus have my elderly mother here with us, so we're home most of the time. When we do leave though, I just hate it! I'd love to have them with me all the time!
No. I do not feel guilty. My dogs have such a good life compared to the dogs I work with. I am usually leaving them so I can spend my time with homeless dogs and cats who live in kennels and cages, no furniture or TV, windows, familiar surroundings, and no loving special person coming home to them. So no, I don't feel guilty, and I REALLY don't wish I could take them with me! I do tell them that when I leave, "You really don't want to go where I'm going."
I miss my old beagle, my car-riding buddy, when I do errands. I don't have a car-rider now. Lilli rides in a crate, and that's no fun.
