Updates and information at
http://pnwpicnic.com The 2012 Pacific Northwest Corgi Picnic will be Saturday,
August 4th, 2012 from noon to whenever.
Leo & Kathy's home in Woodinville, WA (a Seattle suburb) is
the place to be! It turns out that this is the 11th picnic
we've hosted. Wow! Time flies!
All well behaved corgis, not-a-corgi companions, children
and adults are welcome. We'll have a timeout pen or two
should they be needed for offenders of any persuasion.
Please RSVP to leo <at> notenboom.org by Wednesday August
1st (Corgi's R Us meetup group members can instead RSVP
using meetup.com like you do for other events, and as many
of you already have).
Hamburgers and hotdogs will be on the barbecue as in
previous years. We will also be providing beverages. You may
bring a snack or dessert of some sort, but please take any
left-overs with you when you leave.
Festival Seating is at play. All that really means is that
we don't have enough chairs, so if you want a guaranteed
seat you might bring your own. On the other hand there's
lots of ground and the dogs will love to have you at their
level too.
The Silent Auction for Corgi Aid will happen. This is one of
our big local fund-raisers for Corgi Aid, so bring money,
bid high and bid often. There's no cost to come to the
picnic, so take whatever you think it might be worth and get
something Corgi-cool at the auction instead. (There'll be a
donation jar as well if your home is already full :-).
Please coordinate your donations of items to be auctioned
with our volunteer auction coordinator: Jean Clements-Macak
- jcmacak <at> gmail.com who'll be once again organizing the
chaos. (New Seattle resident and Corgi-Aid Treasurer Joyce
Trittipo will be attending, so let's show her what we can
do!)
PARKING - Important: because of the number of attendees at
last year's picnic we're planning to open the back pasture
for parking. Please use it. Drive around to the back of the
house and there should be a couple of signs - the pasture
entrance is right in front of our travel trailer which is
parked at our barn. (And if you need directions just email
leo - leo <at> notenboom.org - and I'll email them to you.
Do not plan on relying on your GPS/Nav/Mapping system, as
some will steer you wrong.)
See you at the picnic! And yes, this is Seattle, so even
though it's August it'll be rain or shine.
