Welcome Corgi Lovers!
Everyone is invited to join us for an afternoon of Corgi fun!
We will be meeting Sunday, October 14 at Friends Forever Dog Park in Freeport, Illinois. This 10-acre park includes an agility course, an area just for smaller dogs, and a huge pond. The park is fenced so your dog can run, play, socialize off leash and go for a swim! This park was chosen by Pet Fancy Magazine as one of the top dog parks in the country!

There will be a potluck lunch. Plan to bring something to share with the group. Cook up something delicious or pick up some potato salad, brownies, or picnic food from your favorite grocery. Bring your own drinks and table service (plate, silverware, napkin, etc.). Other items you might want to bring are lawn chairs, coolers, cameras, sunscreen, dog towels, etc.. Don’t forget those lovable Corgis!
To enter the dog park each participant must show a current rabies tag and proof of current vaccinations for each dog. DHLP is required. Bordetella is recommended, but not required. There is a $5 fee per dog for a one day pass. Daily passes are available in the shelter office the day of the picnic. No puppies under the age of 4 months are allowed in the dog park. There is a maximum of 2 dogs per adult. The Friends Forever Dog Park is located at 966 Rudy Road just south of Freeport, Illinois. Watch for the signs on Highway Route 26. The Friends Forever Humane Society is a shelter for homeless animals which is also on the premises. Please bring an item to donate to their shelter. I know what you mean when you say that you have not been on MyCorgi for a long time. I was not on MyCorgi from October 2011 to March 2012. Then I thought it was time to start checking out the picnics and get togethers. Plus I was listing one for May 2012. Next year get on the site in time to see the listing for CORGI-CON. It is a new Corgi get together that I planned for the spring. It was such a success this year that I plan to do it again next May as well. We had 23 Corgis! Not sure if Izzie and I are going to be able to come. Just found out its my friends sons first birthday party that day. :( Ill see what time she has planned for the party. Maybe we can do both :)

Let's hope that they plan the birthday for later in the day. The one year old will not know it is his birthday, so you will be going to support your friend. Maybe you could go the day before on Saturday and visit.
I hope you will be able to join us one way or another.
Are you going to the Wisconsin Picnic on September 8? They had a great picnic last year. It was my first ever Corgi get together.

Na I cant make the Sept 8th one because its the one saturday a month that I work. But yes I talked with my friend and her party is set for later in the day 1-6ish. So I am hoping to go to the picnic and then head out to the bday party! Yay.
On a sad note.....we just put my husbands dog down today due to kidney failure. Please say some prayers for us. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your husband's dog, Angel. I'm sure Izzie will need to adjust to this as well.
I had 2 German Shepherds years ago and when the older one died, my younger one went through a depression for several months. She even got into some mischief which she never had done before. Later she seemed to be her old self again.
Well, I am glad to hear that you can go to the baby's party a little later in the day and join us for lunch and Corgi fun.
