I'm still fighting the battle flea by flea. My vet doesn't carry Comfortis, so I got a couple Capstar. Becca had a Capstar on Monday and we had a couple of good days. Then last night she started scratching again. She woke me up making noise in her crate. After a scratching spell I will flea comb for as long as she will tolerate and only find one flea. It is like she chases that one flea all around her body. I feel horrible watching her.

This afternoon I called and left a message for the groomer I use. Hopefully she can fit Becca in for a flea bath this weekend. If she can't I'll do it myself and deal with the allergic reaction. One more week until she can have a topical treatment. Any suggestions for diet or natural flea treatments?

No fleas on the cat...Becca must be a flea magnet.

Ask if your vet has Advantage. It's pricey but it works wonders.
I've battled a many fleas in my life, and if you want to ensure the end of that hell you need to strip your house, vacuum every single nook and corner, dust every bit of dust.
My routine is

1. In black garbage bags put ALL linen ( blankets, piloows, curtains etc...), spray with Flea spray, that you buy for animals or house.(( ALWAYS READ LABELS on the what ever spray you are using and follow instructions)) Tye tight after squishing as much air out as possible and leave outside for at least 5 hours.
2. Vacuum and dust every nook and cranky. I put a flea collar in the vacuum bag.
3. Use flea spray in the house as the spray instructs.
4. Open all windows, remove pets from house.
5. go do something outside or fun, treat animals with flea treatment.
6. Wash everything that was in the garbage bags. Re vacuum.

It is an un lawful amount of work but when I do it I never have problems after... I'm very OC about fleas.
Be very selective and get opinions on what flea spray to use, I prefer the one meant to go on animals, but my mom used the areisole raid version ( which is way harsher). I cant stress enough to always follow instructions.

This is how I handle flea problems lol hope it helps in some way!

Thanks...I have to be extremely careful with pesticides due to extreme allergies and asthma. I also have a bearded dragon whose tank is too heavy to be moved. It makes everything that much more difficult. I washed everything that wasn't nailed down last weekend. I need to get more vacuum bags tomorrow. I think I will try Borax or diatemacious earth on the braided rug and then vac it.

I don't have an infestation, just a few here and there. I think Becca may just be getting them outside and is sensitive. A neighbor has been having similar issues. I flea comb the cat daily and she has had none this week, she is primarily indoors.

Becca is going to the groomer tomorrow for a bath. Hopefully it helps soothe her scratching.

Ask your vet about Advantage, works for 4 months ^_^.
Best of luck!
