How much does your cardigan weigh?? Blaze is 1 year and 4 months and weighs 27 lbs. The vet is always complimenting us for keeping his weight at a healthy level. But I feel that he is a runt!! :)

Mine is 9 years and weighs in at 47 lbs. He has a very large bone structure and lots of muscle. I checked with the vet and he says he is at a good weight and he doesn't need to lose a pound. I wish, though, that a cardigan that had his personality and a smaller stature could have chosen me. I can't lift Buttercup.

To get him on the sofa, I have to crouch down and put his 2 front paws on the sofa, then scoup him under the bum and hoist with all my strength (I don't have that much). Sometimes I fall on him after I lift him...it is quite the time. We usually have a good chuckle.
I wish that I had a big boy like that sometimes!! LOL - we always want what we don't have. But I must agree from pics - he looks great and in shape. My fiance and I were joking about the "Corgi Olympics." Blaze tears up and down our stairs in the townhouse a bazillion times a day, so he's training we guess!! :-D
that's funny
Our Cardi is 45 lbs and only 9 months old. He has plenty of energy and is walked regulary 2-3 times a day. He is on a low protien dry food 200g a day but we just cant seem to get his weight down. He jumps up and down from the sofa himself and in an out of the car without a problem but i do worry about him!!
Hazel weighs in at a wooping 26 lbs. She is almost a year old. The vet hasn't really said much about her wieght.
Malibu is 22 months old and weighs 32 lbs. She goes down and up on weight. We find if we mix dry and wet she puts on more with the wet. I can feel he ribs and she has a good hip line so I feel she is good. The vet doesn't say much as to her being over weight but just says to keep an eye on her.
My cardi is 15 pounds! But only four months old. ;) We still have some growing to do!
Lance just turned 3 and weighs 29 pounds at his last vet visit he weighed 30, so he lost a pound! I was surprised because it looked like he gained weight to me, but then again at this time of year he gets all that fur that makes him look heavier and then in the spring when they shed he looks like he lost weight!!!!
Finnigan is 4 1/2 months old and weighs 20 lbs. His Dad is 40 lbs and my Mom owns Finn's half brother from the same Dad who weighs in at 39 lbs at 1 year old. Male Cardis usually range from 30-40 lbs and females are 25-35 lbs. Several of the breeders I've talked to said they prefer the larger bones and breed for the bigger size.
Josie is only 15 pounds but looks great at almost 5 months old. I guess we'll see as she gets older!!
Finnigan will be 6 months old in one week and he already weighs 28 lbs! He's definately not overweight, he's just growing fast. When he stands next to my Mom's Cardi you can see that he is half the size but he weighs more than half of what her Cardi weighs so I'm starting to wonder just how heavy he will be as an adult. He may end up being over 40 lbs!
My boy is now almost 9 months and has not gained any weight in about a month. I'm assuming he is finished growing!? He is 31 pounds. The breeder told me he'd top out at about 30. I'm kiiinda hoping for him to get a little bigger. Just a little though!
