So currently, Freya has a towel in her crate and for her sleeping box she has a fleece blanket in a stunning red color that I got for 4 bucks at Walmart!

Anyway, she still has accidents in her crate and I am in no way faulting her for that. She doesn't have it in her sleeping box but she also is fed there, where as in the crate, none of that happens. So I realize that she hasn't associated the crate as her home.

But what else should I line her crate? I was thinking about buying a crate bed or the sherpa rug I found at walmart. Are these reasonable addition to the towels? or should I just buy more towels til she gets older?

We got Shelby a dog bed with a removable cover so it could be washed. We also put a washable mat in the bottom of her crate. Our crate came with a plastic bottom (most crates do, don't they?) so we just put everything on that and nothing leaked out. We washed everthing when needed and maintainance is simple. For us, washable things really helped.
The only thing that scares me w/using blankets from Walmart or towels that aren't meant for dogs is if that puppy gets bored and starts to chew those things up..which will be easy for her to do...she could get a blockage and if that blockage isn't notice ASAP you could find her dead. This is why I don't like giving toys that are like stuffed animals. www.valleyvet.com has a whelping mat that is for lining crates. I use this for my pups in the whelping box and they can be washed and washed and washed. I know! You can cut them down so you have several spares. Its a great buy. I would just use anything that is meant for a dog and keep in mind if it can be washed or easily wiped down.
So far, I've been pretty lucky that she hasn't taken an interest in chewing up her blankets or towels. I leave her with a kong and I'm thinking about finding another chew toy for her too.

I wonder if I can find a whelping mat at Petsmart or the Tractor's Supply store? If not, I'll try the sherpa rug since she will outgrow the crate bed that I've found.

Thanks for the tip. Um, do you think she would have the same problem with the sherpa rug?
How about a ShamWow?! Haha, just kidding.

How about the fleece blanket and a pee pee pad underneath? Maybe even the whelping mat like Wendt Worth Corgis said. And maybe a little chew toy to go in the crate so that Freya has something to chew on, so she doesn't chew on the blanket/towel.
Lol, gah ShamWow! I've seen that commercial sooo many times. I still haven't decided if it is intentionally supposed to look like a fake commercial or not. But I thought they had shammies for a while now?
How long is she staying in the crate without an outing? She looks very young and if she is in all day she has no choice but to eliminate there. Typically my pups do not get a bed until they are old enough and solid enough not to soil it. I also do not leave one when they are still in the chewing stage.
She is 2 and a half months old. So I have no problems that she's eliminating in her crate and I expect it. Hmm maybe i should just find a whelping mat.
I would only use something that i could wash and more specifically wash with bleach. It does excellent removing that urine odor. The sherpa rug deals get very SMELLY even if they are not having accidents and i found because of the shedding it was somewhat hard to clean.
Ooh, that makes sense! I was thinking about using the sherpa rug for my car too but that kind of deters that line of thought.
