Blaze does that sometimes if he is over-hungry. It's bile I think - ewww!!! :P

yeah, Buttercup threw up one morning (white, frothy stuff) and the vet said it was bile from an empty stomach. I always make sure I give him a small amount of food before he goes to bed so his stomach won't be empty. However, if you are dealing with acid reflux then Don't feed before bedtime.

I, as a human, have severe acid reflux. I have had surgery to correct it and it actually made it worse. On 2 types of medication a day. One of the big things from a human perspective is not to eat 2 hours before you go to bed. The worst thing to eat, for acid reflux, is peanut butter. It is high in fat and sits in your stomach a long time without being digested. Do you notice if your dog coughs....another sign of acid reflux. Not sure how exact it is to human but maybe this is a health. also, caffeine, spices make it worse....can't imagine giving a dog that but you never know. Also, not ot have a large meal, rather several smaller meals so not overloading the stomach. Good luck.

The vet said she was pretty sure it was bile. It would seem this is more common than I thought for corgis. I have never read anything in books about it though.

On another note Hazel caught some sort of bug that was similar to kennel cough. She was coughing and hacking stuff up. It was pretty gross. I think she got when we took her to get bathed and have her nails done. That was the only time she was around other dogs last week. The only other thing was she found a dead bird in the yard and thought it clever to bring it to me. The vet gave us some antibiotic and she seems to be fine. She never really seemed sick except for the coughing stuff up.

awwww - hope that she feels better soon. so sweet to bring u the dead bird - lol. . .what IS their fixation with gross stuff?? :P

both of my corgis have had some stomach issues and quite self induced if you ask me. JR ate excessive amount of ----acorns---- not normal i know. He later had a very violent reaction from what we believed to be ingestion of ---drum roll please---- a lizard. I am ashamed to say that within the last 2 months AJ the seemingly well behaved dog threw up so much i thought she would never stop. The culprit---another lizard. I got some yellow liquid med.from the vet and just keep it in the fridge for when my two are overcome with the urge to eat gross stuff. I also found that yogurt (plain) was very good to sooth their tummy as they began their recovery and could sorta keep food down.

Finn can get very gassy and boy can he clear a room! His tummy seems fine otherwise. We feed him Blue Buffalo puppy food and mix in plain yogurt once a day. The only time his tummy seems upset is if someone (usually when we visit my Mom's house) feeds him people food. We don't feed him table scraps and we tell everyone else not to either but some people just don't get it. Good thing we don't have any kids. I can only imagine what rules my Mom would break with them. :)

My male, Howard, often had an acidy stomach in the morning, sometimes throwing up yellow froth, sometimes not interested in eating. I would encourage him to eat and an hour later it was clear that he was felling better. I asked the vet about it. She said it is very common. Apparently some dogs anticipate their next meal and their stomachs begin producing acid, which causes them to feel nauseous. Because Howard only had the problem in the morning she told me to give him one 10mg generic Pepcid at bedtime. I'm happy to say that he has been fine since.
