I know this sounds silly but it's a discussion we're having at my house. We are both madly in love with Max, our 6mo old corgi. Max needs a buddy so I have been looking for another corgi. I found one near me. The problem is my husband wants a australian cattle dog to look after the property. My problem with that is they tend to be a one person dog and we do have a new granddaughter. I'm not sure about interaction between dogs and our last dogg before Max was acattle dog and she was my husbands dog. If I touched him she would get a little ( ? ) testy. So what do you people think ? Another corgi or a protector?

Corgis are really good protectors and guard dogs! If Juneaux so much as sees a shadow, she'll dart in that direction barking her head off, fearlessly! She's my sons shadow and couldn't have asked for a better breed:)...As for Max, he's still learning, lol! I think he lets Juneaux do all the risky business, lol!!
Someone posted a blog on here like a year ago saying that her two corgis had scared off intruders in the middle of the night! Big corgi barks hehe :) Winston thinks he's a big guard dog and will bark at anyone/anything/leaves blowing across the driveway.. So I think you will have no problem!! :D
