I picked up a rescue today from Phillypaws.org. He is 6 years old, and came from a residence in NJ with too many dogs and cats. His name is Casey, and he'll be ready to go as soon as he is neutered. He is overweight, and need a good grooming, which I'm scheduling. He's getting along with my other 2 corgis, and the cats. He has an ear infection, he's on medication for. If anyone knows anyone interested, please respond to this post. Thanks!
I sent an email to the group yesterday. Good luck!

Donna,
Doesnt the rescue organization work with you to place their dogs? Do they use an application process? Do they check references and do a home visit? I can tell you that seeking homes through large national lists rarely makes good sense. Trust me, I have been placing dogs for quite some time. Corgis do not do well in all situations and homes. Exactly why we have taken in over 50 dogs this year just in the state of FL. I think you ould be doing Casey a great favor by using a screening process. He has already been displaced once. I am sure you are hoping his next home is his forever home. Good luck
Hi Sam - according to the other woman who fostered casey's sister, the local potomac rescue organization is already overloaded. I'm just trying some grass roots efforts first. I adopted a rescue through a group in MD/WV/OH last year, so I'm aware of the screening process. I won't let Casey go to anyone who isn't the right fit for him. Thanks for the comments! Donna
Did Casey find a home yet? I have a neighbor who might be interested.
I would take her but Newton is already a handful! I adopted him around Memorial Day at Morris and am proud to say that he just weighed in today at 28lb!!! Much better than the 44lb when I adopted him.
