Hey everybody,
I've got an issue and I'm trying to find someone to help me.
I've come to the conclusion that I really really really want to do some kind of dog sport. I had Cooper in Agility classes for alittle while and then I quit because I really didnt like the people I was training with. I've taken multiple obedience classes and I love learning new things with my dogs. What I'm wanting is a Corgi Mentor. Someone to take me under their wing and teach me corgi sports. Their aren't a whole lot of options in my area as far as training, and the options I do have all require a 30-40 mile drive pretty much in every direction. I would love to meet another Corgi enthusiast who does dog sports who could show me the in's and out's. I don't know if anyone on here lives relatively close to Minonk/Bloomington IL area who competes in anything but I thought I would at least try and find someone on here. So if there is ANYONE who would be willing to train me and or assist me, please feel free to contact me on here!

Thanks again!

There are probably a lot of books and sites that'll give you advice on home training for whatever you want to go into. If it was agility you should try making homemade gear.
See I'd rather have someone face to face work with me then trying to do it myself
I know how tough it is! I really wanted to do Agility with Sky, but there was only one Agility school in my area and I didn't agree with their training methods. I had just given up when I accidently found a great instructor online one day by accident. I have to drive to a nearby town, but it's only about a 20-25 mile drive, so I endure 1-2 times a week.

If you don't have the good fortune to stumble upon anyone like I did (which most people probably don't, I was lucky), perhaps you could find an Agility trial in your area and attend. If you talk to some of the entries you might find a trainer you didn't know about, or find someone in your area willing to work with you. Good luck!
Thnx for the tip! :)
We have a handy local paved playground where we play soccer -- just Calvin Ball, really (Calvin & Hobbes?) -- you make up the rules as you go along -- but you can invent farily sophisticate rules and games. Like, Al is such a ball-hog that the rule is, I have to feed Gwynnie softball passes, and I score whenever Gwynnie touches the ball first.
