Therapy Dogs International has a reading dog program. I'd like to get Rosie in this. She loves kids and would sit there for hours if they'd pet her once in awhile. I'm a retired teacher and this makes lots of sense to me.

I would love more info. In Iowa I have not found much.
I have worked with children inSpec. Ed and think this would work well.

I am in Iowa also. Do you know Kathy Henderson? She teaches in Burlington I think. I learned about Therapy Dogs Intl when I took Rosie to obedience classes in Mason City.

Karen,
My mom is a retried teacher of the Burlington schools I will ask her about Ms Henderson. Thanks for the lead.
Now to find an obedience class around here. (you will now see me pulling out my hair)
I will also check out Tail Waggin Tutors through Therapy Dogs Intl.

I would love to do this with my corgi in MN...also work with troubled at risk teens.

I did find out there is a program with Therapy Dog International it is called Tail Waggin Tutors.
I also found out the we have 3 dogs in the schools around us in Burlington, Iowa.
I'm tring to find out more info.
