I am currently trying to organize a corgi club here in my town. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to recruit members? There are alot of people here who have corgis and I would really like to recruit them to join. Thanks for any suggestions you have!

Hi! I organize the meetup for corgis in Central Florida. The group started on a website called meetup.com so when I took over the group, there was already a base membership. That site is good at getting members but the downside is, it costs money. So we dropped meetup.com and switched over to yahoo groups, which is a free site. We also recruit several members from mycorgi. We even have a facebook group. You can contact other members on this site that live in your area. I find that word of mouth works best. But we've also made some inexpensive business cards to hand out to people that advertise our yahoo group. We've also made fliers to post in local dog parks and in pet supply stores. I'd go ahead and set a playdate somewhere and then email everyone on this site that's local to you and invite them to come. You can post the event on here and people can rsvp. Good luck!!!
Our group got started on meetup.com, too. We have a lot of people show up to the meetups and we meet at a fenced in dogpark once or twice a month.
