I know this is an old post, but I happened to stumble across it. I do know of one place near IL, but it's way north on the IL/WI border called Magic's Legacy. http://www.shannonwolfeherding.com/ They deal with all levels there, whether you want to just have fun and do an instincts test or you want to compete in AKC herding trials.
