Ein has a cavity. Does any other corgi have the same situation? What do you do to prevent it? What do you do if your corgi has cavities?

vet said that it looks like a tooth fracture, not a cavity but it is really close to the root, so I have to keep it clean. He was so nice he gave me his dental picks for free to take care of his teeth.

When we adopted Roslyn her teeth were horrible! Last month she had to have two extractions and a full scale/dental done. I brush her teeth everyday, but once it sets in it can be a hard thing to reverse without professional help. The link above is a a shot Pfizer came out with that reduces certain bacteria in the canine mouth that help cause tooth decay. It cost $25 (from my vet).

I'm not sure if it will be much help, but it is worth a shot to me. and $25 is a heck of a lot cheaper than a full dental and extractions! Plus the pain my poor like girl had to go through.

make sure you brush your dogs teeth:) i know it sounds silly but i have done this everyday with teddy and his teeth are pure white. there are many products that u can use. like wipes to help get the tarter off and foams/sprays and the brand is "fresh breath" u can also add things to his water that keep his teeth healthy as well(but if u have cats dont use that)

Brush teeth, avoid high suggar treats and foods ( I can bet Ein gets plenty full of treats, and prob. ones he shouldn't have).

I'm as guilty as the next about treats though ( hides face) I know I'm a bad dog owner when it comes to that. Anyways I do brush their teeth. If its really bad I'd say ask your local vet if there is anything to prevent this from happening. I don't know if there are any products that are pet safe, a few for humans but I'd not try that route with your dog unless instructed by a vet.

Hope this helps.
