Breeder in Arlington, VA or Philly, PA

Hi all, I am looking for a corgi and this site has been really helpful w/ tips on raising one. I was wondering if you can recommend any breeders in the Arlington, VA or Philly (West Chester, etc) area?

Thanks for your warm welcome and great leads! I'm very excited about my first puppy and have sent a bunch of emails to breeders. So far, the puppies available are a little more than what I'd like to pay ($1200). What is a typical price for a corgi puppy? There was a breeder who said I could take a pup home after 7 weeks, but that seems like a red flag...

Overpriced. I only payed 600 for Chloe and she is a great dog. It could be 1200 because they are show dogs.

In reference to taking the puppy at 7 weeks, go to my page and check out the discussion "Should I bring puppy home at 6 weeks or wait?" I had tons of responses and your question will be answered...wait :) I also paid $600 for Bella, so if they're charging $1200 they must have champion bloodlines. If you're not going to show her I probably wouldn't pay that much.

$1200 is a bit costly if you are looking for pet quality and intend to spay/neuter. If you agree to limited regislatration you should be able to get a puppy for much less. I know things are always more expensive back east, but in Nebraska you can get a nice pet quality puppy from a reputable breeder for $300-$600. Show quality is a different story, I don't think those prices vary too much no matter where you are.

Hi, our breeder is in Landenburg,PA, about 45-hr outside of Philly. She raises beautiful pups, and she has people start picking her puppies up at 8 weeks, no sooner. We paid about $900 for our Kiwi. If you'd like to know her name and web address just post on my wall and I'd be happy to share the info with you.
