This question is not about my dog, but my best friends' older female beagle. She started bleeding during a dental cleaning and they tested her for platelet count. The result was only 10. They are doing more tests right now, specifically for Ehrlichia (a disease caused by ticks that can deplete the blood of platelets) and one for Auto Immune Thrombocytopenia.

Do any of you have any experience with either of these? My poor friend is very upset. She loves her dog so much. I'd appreciate any input.
