I have a question for everyone who has had a corgi with a broken toe, foot, leg, etc. How long did you have to keep the splint on? I've read several places that people have had vets who didn't splint a broken toe at all, or only had a splint for a week or two. My vet is saying 6-8 weeks and I'm really starting to question her reasoning. I mean we don't even splint human broken toes at all, just rest and let it heal. I'd like some feedback from others who have been through this. Franklin is already developing sores and its only been 2 1.2 weeks so I worry what 6-8 weeks will do to him. Also he has difficulty walking with the big huge splint on and hobbles around on 3 legs most of the time. I can tell its taking a lot out of him and he has managed to cut the pad on a back paw now due to the way he's had to try to compensate for the bulky splint.
