My name is Mandi and I live in Houston, Tx. I heard about this site from a chance encounter with a fellow Corgi lover!
I live with my husband, two daughters (13 & 17 plus I have a 19yr old daughter who's off doing her own thing), three dogs, two cats, a ferret and a tarantula. I'm a first time Corgi owner.
I always wanted a Corgi and now I have one. My two other dogs are a Pug named Phoebe and a Lab Mix puppy named Gracelyn. I grew up to be a vet tech because I love ALL dogs (and animals). I wish I could have more dogs but my husband would probably keep the dogs and get rid of me if I bring anymore home. lol
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
I have one Corgi who's name is Bindi Sue Bangles (AKA Bean). She's a tri-color Pembroke Corgi.
About three years ago my sister got pair of grown Pembrokes. I was super excited because I thought eventually they'd have babies and maybe I could talk my husband into getting one. She had her first litter and my Bean was the smallest one of them all. She was an adorable tiny little furball. Her leg was sort of "bendy." I told my sister I'd take her to work with me to talk to a specialist to see what was going on with it. So, she gave her to me to keep forever. As it turned out she doesn't have a hip socket. They told me to make her exercise to build up her muscles to hold her hip in place. She may have to have an operation when she's older but as long as she stays active she should be ok for a while. So far, it hasn't even slowed her down one bit.
She started "herding me" at three months old. When we'd take walks she would bite me on the heel at every corner! I suppose she didn't want me just jumping out in traffic :o) I think she trusts me not to do it now because she doesn't do it as often.
She's super fast and I love her little bunny butt! It also sort of reminds me of a big black bear butt (even though she's only 18lbs) because it jiggles like a bear butt when she runs hahaha! She's a very funny dog who's been super fun to have as a friend :o)
I have:
Pembroke

Mandi, you will love it in the Willamette Valley! we lived in Corvallis (very near Albany) for 30+ years and we do miss is. There is a large corgi group in Corvallis that you might want to hook up with when you get there! Carol, Lucky and Sonny

Welcome Mandi, Bindi Sue (Yeah! Love Steve Irwin, may he rest in peace) and the whole gang! Like you, I have a 19 year old (daughter) and 17 year old (daughter) and a 15 year old son. The older two are in college, but they are local and so still live at home. We sure have a full house; hubby and me, three teenagers, three dogs, two cats and two lizards. There have been a few times when I have been *this close* to bringing another corgi home, but our city limits us to three dogs.
Puppy kisses and stump wags from Edward and Gem!! We call Eddie penguin butt(it's black and white) Gem is a Princess so I would dare not call her butt anything (butt) cute.
