Too bad Charlie will only be 4 months old, but we will definitely attend the next one if he's 6 months by then!!

3 other places are the Sugar Creek Administration Center in Joliet, Monee Reservoir in Monee, and the Plum Creek Nature Center in Beecher. I just found out the Plum Creek is currently closed for preserve improvements.
Before you go get your daily pass, you should check their business hour. I think they don't open on Sunday.

Where are the 3 other places to buy permits in person?

My vet talked about Lepto. This is the bacterial infection commonly caused by sniffing of urine of infected animal(wild animals, other dogs)or drinking contaminated water. Dogs that spend their lives indoors or in areas that are not contaminated by carrier wildlife are less likely to become infected. Many forest preserve dog parks have the similar alert.
Since our 2 corgis are the city dogs and we took them to the forest trail for walking/running often, our vet recommended the lepto vaccine. Our dogs get distemper/parvovirus/lepto vaccine yearly.
Check your dog's records to see if he/she has lepto vaccine(or DHLPP)or check with your vet.
You can find more information online but I read that not all dogs who are exposed to lepto become ill but if it happens, it tends to be a puppy under 6 months old.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I was just reading the park rules, and there is an Alert on LEPTOSPIROSIS,  did you see this. I am not familiar with this. Its on the last page of the permit.

If you didn't send the single day pass application yet or worrying about the weather, there is a way to get one on the meet up day in person.
On your way to the dog park, stop at "isle a la cache museum" in Romeoville (815-886-1467) and buy the pass. It is not that far from the dog park and opens on Sunday noon to 4 pm. If you have time during the week, there are 3 more places you can buy the pass in person before the meet up. Hope to see you there!!
