Hi Alla, it looks like either Ant or spider bite, go check with your vet, if the swelling increases, use an ice pack to cool the area. good luck, post back and let us know how it goes!

It could be an allergy to grass or some other kind of plant that he's walking through. My parent's lab used to get something like that at the end of every summer because she was allergic to something outside.

Aww, poor Charlie! I've never seen a rash like that before, so I can't help- sorry :(
Good luck at the vet- hopefully it's something that can be treated easily. Let us all know how the visit goes.

spencer has had the same thing....it comes and goes. I notice it after he has been really active outside.

thanks, Jenni and Dave. Yes, for the past 3 days he was really very active (FRAPping and all...) in a high grass area. May be that's what it is.

An update. The vet said it was dermatitis, probably because of poison ivy or some other grass. He gave us Betagen topical spray, and also some antibiotic by name Simplicef.
I am not sure what antibiotic is for...
