Foxi is afraid of plastic bags!
My 7 month old is so afraid of those plastic grocery bags you get at the store!!! Every time she sees or hears one she takes off runnuing with her ears back!!! She also hates her plastic food /water dish. I had to replace it with a porcelin one but I still have to put that on a rug or in the living room or she wont eat. Its weird and I dont understand it! Does anyone else have a corgi that does this?

Zed is scared of plastic bags. I can't say the same about anything else that is plastic though. He just hates any type of plastic bag sound.

Our corgis are not too crazy about the oversize bags, especially those big packaging ones, may be they're huge and make weird noise? mine absolutely hate plastic bubbles, as soon as they see bubble wraps, they're no where to be found :)

Sully is scared of plastic bags (among other things). We love him anyway. It's a common fear for dogs to have along with brooms and the garden hose. It doesn't mean they were beaten, or abused or strangled with a plastic bag. It's a pet peeve of mine when people adopt a dog and automatically assume it was abused when it's scared of something. Sometimes, dogs are just scared of things. ALL dogs, not just the ones who have been roughly handled. She is young enough thought that you should be able to use some desensitizing techniques (especially with the dishes) and have success. A clicker and a touch command would probably work wonders. Sully will touch (with his nose) a plastic bag that is on the floor not making any noise now.
As far as dishes go, Sully hated the metal food dish we bought, wouldn't touch the ceramic one but eats happily every day out of a cheap-o plastic storage container. He did graduate to drinking water out of a regular metal doggy dish. :)

Gosh, I dont think bags, hoses or brooms are scary things for dogs. This is typically from lack of exposure. I would put my pup on lead and have a bag in my lap and lots of tasty treats. Dont move it or make noise just encourage the dog forward. As the dog readily accepts the treats just touch the bag enough to make a noise. Immediately offer a treat and lots of praise if he approaches. Work with this daily and I think soon you will find your dog has no issue with the normal rattling of bags.

Our little Mona absolutely loves plastic grocery bags, it means we are going for a walk because I always grab one to take with for doody. She gets super excited and barks, puts her ears back and starts hopping around, and if allowed will grab the bag and run around with it. Like the others said you should desensitize her to it and at the same time create a positive association with something like treats in the bag, or a bag means a walk. Good luck!

my corgi hates all bags. when we go walking on garbage days, we literally have to walk in the middle of the road or else he won't stop barking.
he gets angry if we put grocery bags on the floor or any bag. He is however able to recognize his kibbles' bag though and will not bark at it angrily.
Does the dish slide on the floor? maybe your corgi won't eat if the dish is not on the rug because it slides otherwise? Especially with porcelain sliding on anything thats not carpet, it makes a noise that may startle her.

Buckley hates brooms too. He's never had a bad experience with one, but whenever we pull it out, he won't come anywhere near it-- he'll back away and leave the room. He doesn't have a problem with plastic bags, but man, anything on wheels is something to be feared! Again, I've had him since he was 8 weeks old and he's never had a bad run in with anything on wheels -- he just doesn't like them! Wheelchairs, bikes, wagons, shopping carts --- you name it, he won't go near them and he'll actually stand behind me to be safe. Maybe he just doesn't understand how things move when they don't have 4 legs like him? lol...

Megan hates boxes because when we were younger after my dad would open the package he would give me and my brother the bubbles to pop and that scared megan but nowe everytime she sees a box she will run. my puppies however arent scared of anything. boxes=GREAT because if i get a box after i get out what is inside i give it to them and they will rip it up. (we are trying to break this habit so they dont get use to ripping apart paper). plastic bags are also fine. they stay in my kitchen and we go grocery shopping like twice a week so they are use to the noise and the look. so i guess that is good.

Little Bear is afraid of plastic bags, too. Trash bags, anything. And brooms and vaccuum cleaners. I think its pretty standard.

YES!! You are not alone. When we got Duke at 7mos. he was afraid of everything. Plastic bags, any clicking noise, if you moved too quick, computer plugs lying on the floor, your feet if you moved them to the coffee table. He's gotten better, but we don't know what the previous owner did to make him so skittish. He was a happy dog when we got him and always is, but sometimes he is afraid of the strangest things and it can be frustrating.
He is afraid of thunder and loud noises and goes in the closet, but that is kinda normal. But he loves people, never met a person/child he didn't like, get along well with other dogs and is a wonderful pet.
Just wish we could cure him of his skittishness! :-)
He loves the broom though and chases it around and barks when I use it. Has a good playtime with it. It's almost the only time we hear him bark much is when he's chasing you, chasing the broom or if the doorbell rings.

Brody is afraid of any plastic bags, anthing that makes a "flapping" sound. When we get home from grocery shopping he goes downstairs and lays on his pillow until we are done. He loves to be outside with us raking leaves (until we bring out the lawn bags, then he high tails it outta there!)
