Kimberly, a soft brush will teach him that it's normal for you to groom him. Just keep it very short as it's hard for young pups to hold still.
these are the best thing ever. take your dogs outside to use though because the amount of fur it removes is awesome. i got mine at QVC years ago.
Kimberly posted a link to a Furminator for long hair dogs. I would think the regular one would be more appropriate? One of the reasons we named our corgi Snickers is because she had a line down the middle of her back that squiqgled back and forth like the swirl on the top of a candy bar- now I know it was her top layer coming in!
Those things are wonderful. I brush Sam before I take him places and I almost never have to vacuum out my car anymore. Before I got one it was like... Every time I took him somewhere he left half of another corgi in the front seat.
I say this as someone who loves the furminator and uses it in shedding season: Wait til you see what the adult coat is like!
Jack has the classic harder outercoat and I love the furminator for him.
Maddie has the glamour coat and it's softer. The furminator generates so much static in her coat that fluff sticks to me, to her, to the rug. Ugh, hate it! For her I use mostly the slicker brush or the fine side of a comb. I use it on her sometimes, but if she were my only dog I'd be disappointed by the price.
For Jack, it's a lifesaver and it shortens my grooming time in coat-blowing season by several hours (over a period of about a month). Since he hates being groomed, that's a very good thing! But for Madison it's not the best thing. So just hold off til the adult coat comes in and you see what you have.
go on amazon it's cheaper, I ended up getting mine on there, that or you can probably find one on e-bay as well. We use it all the time, we try daily but that doesn't always happen :)
Totally worth the price. I use it for my cats all the time, but mostly I brush my Cardigan with a slicker brush. Sometimes he gets furminated
I don't mind spending if it is a good tool. This is great, and poodeck seems to enjoy it as well. I take him outside when using it as the hair comes off so well I have puddles of pup hair every where. But since we are outside the overage just blows away! Great investment; the cat is not a fan though.
