Odie has been scratching a lot lately.  Recently, because the store didn't have the dry food we usually feed him (we always feed him organic), we bought something different.  I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but it seems that was when he started scratching all the time.  Is there anything that Corgis are commonly allergic to?  Do I need to take him to a vet to find out what he could specifically be allergic to?  I've read online in several places that dogs could be allergic to wheat, corn, yeast, etc. etc.  Should I avoid ALL of these things?  What should I be feeding him?  Please help?!

It's very possible it could be the new food. If he wasn't scratching much on the old food I would try to switch him back to it. You could try comparing the ingredients and see what the new food has the old one didn't. Corn is a really common dog allergy but it could be other things too.
I agree with Jane on this one. It sounds like a food allergy maybe. How old is Odie? Roxi didn't start showing signs of allergies till about 3 years old but a lot of people will tell you btw 2-4 years they will start showing allergy signs.

My vet started us with meds for skin mites/diseases then moved onto the food allergy test (two months of no treats and just cardboard food+water yay...) then we got an appointment with a dermo and take the skin test. We now have to give her a shot every two weeks for seasonal (she's allergic to everything apparently lol).

It's a fun process allergies if they end up being really bad but I'm guessing if you just switched foods they popped up I would compare and switch.
