GOOD NEWS UPDATE!
Thursday 9/23 at 4:00 PM EST:
Just heard from Jen on the AWF's Urgent Dog Team that Martina "will be
meeting two terrific applicants on Monday and is confident she will find
a forever home with one of them!"
According to her PetFinder listing, Martina was picked up as a stray in Jones County. She needs to find a home -- rescue, foster or permanent placement -- by September 24th or she faces euthanization.a forever home with one of them!"
She was found wandering alone on the highway. (Now that just ain't right!)
Martina is about a year old, and clearly as cute as as button.

I am all over this. I will let you guys know what happens...I will get her out at least, and foster her until we can get her a home. I've called and left a message, and will call first thing in the morning to find out if she is available.

I've spoken with the Animal Welfare Foundation person, and it sounds like she won't be euthanized. She said there have been numerous people interested in her, and they are taking the time to find her a good home. I've offered to foster her if needed, and have filled out their applications--so hopefully they will contact me to take her if needed! She is such a sweet looking girl....

Please let me know what was done about this dog. I'm in Charlotte, NC and I am looking for another one but I just went through a puppy rescue that went very badly. I am very interested in this dog's status.

I last talked to the rescue yesterday. She had a couple of people interested in her but was going to contact me if they didn't work out. I can let you know if I hear anything, or I can give you their contact info if you want. I would be willing to get her for you and help arrange to get her to North Carolina. My husband is going to Greenville in November.

Oh my, Jennifer that would be wonderful! She has the most precious face & November is actually perfect timing. If you pick her up then would they even want my info? I would pay for any visits to your vet to check her out & make sure she is healthy which was the issue with our last 'rescue' puppy. Please keep me posted. I hope this works out!! My husband is going to Florida to see his dad, but was going to swing through Greenville to see his brother and old friends...we lived there for 10 years before moving to Iowa. It would be very easy to get her to you! I'll email you the info too....
