I know there are a ton of discussions about what type of dog food people use, and I have not seen anyone else say they use Diamond dog food. If anyone else uses that, let me know!!

I had never heard of it, but I just looked up the ingredient lists, and they don't look so great. From what I understand (and I'm no expert) your first (preferably first and second) ingredient should always be meat. All of the lists I saw began with some kind of meat meal, sometimes non specified meat meal, and one even listed chicken by product meal as their first ingredient. There's also been recalls done and, if i'm remembering correctly, 76 deaths related to contaminated food, which I know can happen to any dog food, but it's something to research. Where do you buy this food from?
Our breeder had some of her corgis on the diamond naturals, but last time I talked to her she was looking for a switch. They kept having loose stools on it, even after they had been acclimated to it.
My puppy was fed that by her breeder. I switched it as soon as I could. Check out this site it's an excellent resource and there's another site but I can't remember it right now.

Oh I switched Freya to Blue Buffalo Puppy and she's been pretty good with it. Avoderm puppy was also pretty good. Amanda is right in that the first ingredient should be meat.
I have Dax on Blue Buffalo also and he LOVES it. I switched him from Wellness because he wouldn't eat, the BB is like a treat to him at mealtimes! Lol. He's actually excited to eat now, it takes him about 2 minutes.
Oh yeah, Freya loves her food!
Thanks for all the fast replies. Oh wow, I will have to look into switching her food then, that does not sound good!!
According to the Whole Dog Journal, Diamond pet food is ok-however they have had food recalls that weren't made public in the past, and they also now own and make Solid Gold, Canidae, Dog Food for the Pet Lovers' Soul, Taste of the Wild, and some other good dog foods-you have to look at the WDJ list and how it's set up-not all these foods are listed under Diamond, but under their own listing- also, not all these foods list Diamond as the manufacturer on the bag label-with them making so many different foods, I am concerned that they will be the next big public food recall with alot of the really good dry foods being affected
Diamond food, any variety, was not recommended by my vet. Even though it's available for a much cheaper price at the local co-op than what he sells at his clinic, I took his advice many years ago and feed my Corgis only Science Diet. It's pricey, but their stools are firmer and fewer. Also, their stomachs don't "gurgle" as if upset like a lesser-quality food sometimes does. Science Diet is available at PetCo, PetSmart, any high-end farm/feed supply store such as Atwoods, and many veterinarians. Hope this helps you out.
I am now considering Purina Pro puppy for Sadie. The first two ingredients are Chicken and brewers rice, which seem to be good. Anyone use this?!
We had Penelope on PPP, she didn't do so well on it. She would throw up every now and then on it. After they switched it to PPP Shredded Blend (I think since then, they went on to make the original formula again), she was not doing very well (threw it up about once or twice a week) on it and actually got sick around the time we had gotten a new bag. I'm not blaming the food, the vet couldn't find the cause of it and it was around New Year's, we are afraid that there was a possibility she might have eaten a firework that we didn't see or someone gave her something the 15 minutes we had her at a friends house with their dog. Anyhoo, with all that going on we decided to switch her to Halo Spot's Stew Dry Formula, she LOVES the chicken flavor. It's all natural, human grade, you see the veggies and fruit in it. She hasn't thrown up since being on it either. More vitality and even shiner coat than before.
