So here's something I'm completely clueless about...what's a good calorie range for an adult (1 year old) corgi? I want to make sure I'm not feeding Stanley too much. Does all dog food and treats list calorie counts? Can someone shed some light on this for me??

I'm not sure about the exact amount (calories and stuff), but Stanley's breeder should be able to tell you, if you're ever still in contact w/ them. I do know that bags of dog food often exaggerate the amounts they recommend the dog be fed - they tell you to feed the dog much more than they actually need. (It's been rumored that this is their attempt to make the customer have to buy more dog food and thus make more money off them, but I don't know if that's true or not.) My Corgi gets approx 2 cups of "fit and trim" (healthy weight formula) dog food per day, as she gained a little flab over the summer b/c we lived with another dog for a few months who was very skeletal, had lots of health problems, and almost never ate his food, or anything else...so Heidi was more than happy to eat his food AND hers. :-P Sorry I don't know more about this subject but I hope that helps. I'll bet some other ppl on this site know more.

Also...even if your dog begs and acts like he is starving, don't believe him. Most Corgis are a little...er...gluttonous, and will keep eating even when they've had enough. They can be prone to weight problems. So even if he tries to charm you into more food when you've already fed him...be strong! LOL. :)
It's different for every dog and depends on there activity level as well. Finnigan is a year old and gets about 1/2 cup twice a day. His food is not a diet food but does have a lower fat content than most. Many foods do list the calories but not all of them. Finn was getting 1 cup twice a day but wasn't always eating his food so we cut it back and now he eats his food as soon as we give it to him. The 2 cups a day was obviously too much for him.
Here is a topic I started on it a few months ago (http://mycorgi.ning.com/forum/topics/calorie-requirements). Most foods and treats will either list it on the packaging OR you can go find their website and look it up there. I've never run into a website I couldn't find it on. If you are not able to though, companies are required to list their contact info on the packaging, so you can call them and get the caloric content.
Jack's food is I think around 360 calories per cup, and he gets 2/3 cup a day, so that is about 240 calories in food plus maybe another 30 or so in treats.

He got a cup and a quarter and was fine with that til he was about 18 months old, then he started chunking out as he settled down with age. I cut him back to a cup and he was still gaining, so now he gets 2/3, but every dog is different. You should see a waist and be able to feel the ribs under a thin layer of flesh when you run the flat of your hand over his side.
Finn's food didn't say on their website and I threw away the bag so I just emailed the company and they said it contains 427 per 8 oz cup. If we're feeding him a cup a day then he's getting 427 plus whatever treats he gets which are not many.
