Mishka and I moved into an apartment last year and I instantly missed having a front porch with a hose. Because the apartment complex has a lot of lovely greenways with inadequate drainage, and thus a lot of mud.  The apartment also has beige wall-to-wall carpet (of course).  

In my previous abode, before the hose, I tried the PawPlunger.  It was great in theory, but useless on corgi legs - Mishka's paws barely reached the bristles.  Also considered the Paw Wash, etc.....same problem.  

But the concept is sound, so I decided to try it with something more corgi-sized:  empty Folger's coffee crystals containers - the small size.  I'm sure there are plenty of other containers that would work:

Corgi's are RWD.

After first dunk (did front feet first - you lose some water on each foot).

Dunking technique:  I also do a lateral shake, where I hold the leg above the container with one hand, and swish the container with water and the paw with the other hand.

After second dunk:

I ask him for his tummy, and use one of those super-absorbent towels to get most of the water out.

Oh, and the mat is one of those IKEA Toftbo bathmats, which is effectively the $10 version of those Soggy Doggy mats.  And yes I forget to put it out before fetch most of the time.  It hangs on a hook by the door, next to a stack of these absorbent towels (plus a bucket for the muddy towels), and it all goes in the wash at the end of the week.
