Hi,
I just adopted a 8-week old corgi pups and would like to know if there's a certain guideline of how much weight he should be at weekly up until the 6th month?

When he reached our house, we put him on scale and it shows that he weight 6lbs at that time. but in 3 days he gained another 1lbs, is that normal? We've been feeding him 3 times daily and 1/4 cup each serving. We feed him with a mix of science diet (thats what the previous breeder feed him) and mix it with nutrisource (what we planing to feed him in the future).

And it will be great if i can also have an input on Nutrisource dogfood. We live in Indonesia and in here, we dont have a lot of dogfood variety, the best we have here (according to the petshop) are Science Diet, Holistic, NutriSource and Canidae (and of course generic brands like Pedigree, ProPlan, Eukanuba and Royal Canin). Corgi is still a rare breed therefore its really hard to obtain information from the vet or any other dog owner in town.

Cheers,

Jess & Wang (woof)

Usually young puppies grow about a pound per week, but this can vary some depending on the individual dog.

I'm not very familiar with the Nutrisource brand, but just by looking at their website it looks fine to me. I would feed either the large breed puppy formula or one of their adult foods that state they are suitable for all life stages.

Hi Jess & Wang, congrats on your purchase! 3 times daily 1/4 cup sounds little, generally pups eat more. You may want to consult with your vet / bag, every food is different.

As far as food goes, read the FAQ, learn the lingo and get educated. Do not blindly follow brand, it means NOTHING, people / management / formula / facility changes all the time, pay attention to the the recalls and do your best / what you can afford. What works for others may not work as well for your dog, every dog is different.
