My mom (to be) had noticed yesterday that our little Winston had diarrhea when he would go potty so we had kept an eye on him all day. We arent 100% sure why this happened but I have a theory. We picked him up on Sunday and he has been fine up until yesterday, We went on a walk and through a people park the day before the diarrhea had started so that may have caused it as well since he sniffed around somewhat but I believe that he got the runs from too many treats. I believe it is good to praise a dog when doing good but 2-3 treats in one sitting isnt very healthy MOM and DAD! I think his body may have been like well I guess this is just a new form of food and got upset from the constant indulgence of the treats. Could this be a probable cause of why the little guy got the runs? I seems like a decent theory and seems like too many treats is a bad idea but I wanted to get other opinions before I confronted them about the issue. I hope this is helpful, nothing has really changed since we brought him home except for the constant love and attention my family has to offer. The food is still the same and he still continues to eat and drink without a problem. He hasnt thrown up so that a plus as well. I'll be taking him to the vet today to get a once over since receiving him from the breeder so I'll ask her as well and bring a stool sample for them to test for anything like worms. Who knows, the fact that he only has his first set of shots could result in some sort of worm. I'll just have to keep an eye out and listen to the responses I get on here. Thank you so so much for your time and help. This may matter..he only eats those Pupperoni treats when they feel like praising him. Maybe they're too salty or something, I'm not sure but Thanks again!

Too many treats can cause the runs. There have been times when I took Shippo into a pet store and the people there fed him like 10 treats before I could tell them, "Woah, that's enough!" These were treats he'd never had before, so it caused quite an upset.

Other things that can cause loose stools are worms like you said, parasites, and sometimes vaccinations (especially if it's one particularly hard on their bodies, like a 7-in-one or rabies.
I've had my dogs get tummy troubles from too many or the wrong kind of treats. Pupperonis are pretty bad for dogs. You might want to switch to something like Charlee Bears - Sidney loves them, and they are only 3 calories each!
Yeah thats what my vet was saying, they're too rich especially for puppies. I wasn't very sure of them when mom picked 'em up and was really weary but I'll deff. look into the Charlee Bears or even plain old MilkBones. He seemed to devour the one my vet gave him this morning. Oh and good news, no worms! :] So I'm thinking it must have just been the overload of all those rich treats. Thanks so much for your input!
