I was just wondering for those who have bred their corigs. How big is your sire compared to the dam (weight/height)? And how much would would those factors affect the birth process?

Breeding stock should be fairly close to the AKC standards, which is 27 lbs for males and 25 for females. If you breed an oversized male to a small female she could have trouble delivering the puppies, which can result in a very expensive emergency c-section, or even death.

But really...weight is a very small part of what should be considered for breeding. Please consider the information on this chart before you decide to go through with breeding your dogs.
