When we take our dogs for walks they often have diarrhea by the time the walk ends. It doesn't matter if it is a hour walk or a 10min walk. This doesn't happen when they are playing fetch, or any other vigorous activity. Has anyone had this problem?
Hmm, Sky used to do this when he was a puppy. It was like all that walking just got his system moving a little too fast. He has grown out of it though.

Kirby sometimes gets a little loose when he's excited (walking in a new area, or when he goes on the trails that he loves). I always chocked it up to excitement. He always firmed up later.

Charlie used to have diarrhea all the time and we found out he is allergic to grain. Once he was switched to a grain free food he rarely ever has diarrhea.
Never had diarrhea, but Dax almost always stops to poop, in the middle of the road of course, in the middle of a walk. I'd say it's probably excitement, because I'm sure that's what it is for Dax. If it's happening with all your dogs, you might try changing the food.

Jack used to have a problem with loose stools on walks too. We switched his food to lamb and rice, and the problem resolved. Now he only gets that issue at his favorite park with the creek and the trail through the woods.
Madison doesn't have the issue, but we're switching her food anyway so they'll be on the same one.
I think that the fiber in his old food was maybe too much for him on a walk and it would just go through his system too quickly.
Thank you all for the information. It may just be the excitement of the walks. The only grain they have is oatmeal in there food. Which is supposed to be the least bothersome of the grains. They have normal stools otherwise. And I do notice it more when we are on a brisk walk. Hopefully they will get better with time, or they will just have to have their cute little bums washed when we get home!!
