My daughter Andrea and I went to Cedar Rapids, IA yesterday (3.5 hours each way) to pick up two corgis for Lakeshore Pembroke Corgi Rescue. One, a hyper little git named Buddy, went on into Lakeshore's rescue while the other, a really sweet boy named Kinnick stayed with me-- I have a home for him in Boston MA with a friend of mine who's landlord runs sheep. Kinnick can hardly wait.

That is wonderful that you are helping these dogs! They will have another chance thanks to your efforts.
Way off topic, I am also helping with a very long distance "rescue," in South Africa. Dave Freer, a noted science fiction and fantasy author who lives in KwaZulu Natal has been doing rescue for years...he has four dogs, three of which are rescues, and a whole slew of rescued cats...and he's moving, for safety and security, to Australia...and he doesn't have all the money he needs to get his critters through quarantine in Oz...so we've put up an "author's begging bowl" website...www.savethedragons.nu...to help him raise the money to take his rescued pack to Australia.
I live in Cedar Rapids! I had no idea any needed homes...I would have gladly kept them!
