When I picked up Penny she was being fed Purina Puppy Chow thats been crushed up with some baby meat sticks. The breeder had asked to not change her food but after reading some reviews I've come to think that Purina is not a great brand to feed Penny. I recently started to change her food to Wellness for Puppies... however her stool has softened extremely and she's been having trouble going #2. Was it a bad change? Should I wait a bit longer and see if she adapts to the new food?
Anyone have any great recommendation on which brand of puppy food I should feed Penny?
Thank you!!

My GSD breeder/friend highly recommended Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. It's a dry kibble and rated very high in nutrition and a lot less expensive than some of the other kibble ranked similarly high. My 2 Corgis have done very well with this & their coats are shiny and they've thrived. Lately, Lucy has had loose stools and we're trying to narrow down the potential source. If it continues or gets worse, of course we'll have a stool test. But, I am certain it's not the kibble. I've removed all supplements and am gradually adding them back.
We've had our boy home for 2wks now and are feeding him Taste of the Wild Puppy Food. It's grain free, and he's doing very well one it, in fact we're going to start feeding TOTW to all of our dogs instead of Ol' Roy, based on that one little bag of TOTW has lasted us two wks, and a 40# bag of the other last about a wk.
