The only time my family flew with our corgi Daisy, it was Delta and she was in cargo. I was thinking of her all day, reminded flight attendants that my dog was in cargo and that it should be pressurized like the cabin, and yelled hi to her when we saw her crate on the luggage cart outside the second, smaller plane from Salt Lake City to Helena, Montana. We were happy to meet her at the Helena Regional airport, but she had made quite a mess in her cage because she managed to eat some aluminum foil the day before. We keep an eye on our dogs and do our best to keep garbage unavailable for them to eat, but that was the only real issue on the day of the flight. Later in the summer when it was time to fly home, Delta wouldn't fly the dogs (we had gotten a second one in Montana!) because of the heat. My dad drove me and my brother across the country with the dogs, who drank a fresh cup of coffee my dad left in the truck while we looked at RVs. They didn't spill any of the coffee, and they had coffee breath. We had such a good time traveling that we now drive for vacation rather than flying, camping in a trailer with the dogs along the way.
-flew Jet Blue yesterday with an 8 week old French bulldog-didn't hear a peep out of him the whole trip. Didn't hear a peep from flight attendants either.
