If you give the medication 30 days from exposure, you should be fine. It is not a preventive, it actually works by killing the larval forms in the bloodstream when they are already there ( preventing further development which takes time ) Just don't miss any more doses!
I don't think I did miss but I just wasn't 100% sure about it. That's the first time I've not been sure of giving him his meds. Either way, I'm taking him in next month for a yearly physical and may as well have that test ran to be safe.
I see neighbor's dogs that are outside 80% of the time and have saw them upclose as I give them treats through the fence and I can see long, curled under nails and wonder if they get any meds at all. You neglect that area, neglect grooming, baths, teeth brushing etc., in all liklihood everything else is neglected as well.
