This pertains to and ties to a few topics, but is along the lines of " What has your Corgi done for you".

Have you ever just sat down and thought about what a friend is, and why it is no matter how much we try...the reasons for our pets are a mystery.

With our compacity to enjoy the ability to analize and evaulate what feelings we have, in truth this also sets limitations on us. Social standards and vaules that are set, we are held to and just as any well trained sub concencious reflex we perform as expected.

In this truth lies the real solution to the mystery that is human emotions.

The real truth is our dogs know us better then we know most of the friends we have. In truth how much do you know about your friends, can you at a moments glance name off a favorite color, or food?

If you pay close enough attention, your dogs know you well. They know exactly how to sit, how to smile and how to act. All you have to do is pay a close amount of attention to your dog, write down the silly quarks and behaviors. Now let your dog stay with someone who isn't around a lot, watch how your dogs behavior changes.

I guess my point to this all is to spend a few moments out of a busy day to get to know your friends, learn a little more about them then the cookie cutter details of life.

Say Thank you a lot, be thankful for each moment of your life, tommrow may not come.

Hug your dog, take a moment out to realize how amazing and special he/she really is.

Here on the form we know the basic cookie cutter information that is on our profile, but every now and then get to know somone.

Local places can schedule and or organize meet up's, its not as if we all don't have something in common.

In the end, the only thing that is remembered about a person is the dash in the middle, who you know and who really knew you. Life is short so live it like you don't have tomorrow.

I know this is kind of off topic....but hopefully you'll understand how it ties in.

You are  correct our dogs do know us and can tell when things are amiss. As for friends...I am one who prefers a few close friends and know them well rather than many not so close friends. I am a homebody and prefer  hanging out there. I spend more time with my dogs and husband than anyone else and I like it that way!

Have you seen that Nova special about dogs? It's very interesting! One of the things they talk about is how dogs look at our faces. They look at us the same way we look at each other - the eyes "track" from left to right...

Don, this is not off-topic at all! I have only had my boy for just under a year now. I now can not imagine my life without him. The way he snuggles me every morning before we get up. Our morning walks. His crazy antics that never cease to make me laugh. The way he "talks back" when I'm trying to scold him. The way he immediately flops onto the floor as soon as I pick up his brush... The way they seem to just look up at you for no reason other than to let you know that they have an emotional tie to you (I don't care what the "experts" say, these guys "care" about us!). I wouldn't trade it for anything...
