I'm hoping someone can help with some advice as i'm a little worried about our new puppy.

We got our new little corgi yesterday. He is 18 weeks old so a bit of an older pup. The problem is that he smells really bad. We have had puppies before so know that this isn't a normal puppy smell. We gave him a bath this morning thinking that it could possibly be from the farm where came from and the pen that he was in but the smell is still there. Would pet deodorizer help or could it be something health wise which could be wrong with him - his ears seem to be ok and no inflammed or hot.

It may be some kind of skin condition, I would mention it to the vet. Any time you get a new pup you should bring him to the vet to get him checked out initially. Hopefully it's not a problem and he just has amplified puppy breath. :)
Where did the smell originated? Fur or breath?
A bad smell that will not wash off is not a good sign. Unless it is skunk odor or something of that nature I would try to smell your pup and find where the smell originates. If you are noticing any skin irritations that could be a cause. Ears are often a place where infections can occur. If he has lots of parasites and bouts of diarrhea that could be another cause. Did you get his vet records? Is there any history of infections or treatments for anything out of the norm? Regardless it is time you get him in to see your vet. It is good to check on his health, continue on his vaccines if he needs them, start heartworm prevention and make a date to get him neutered as he reaches six months. Good luck, let us know what you find out.
Thanks. The breeder didn't mention any health problems, just that his puppy teeth are falling out and adult ones coming out. I think it's his teeth as I think the smell is his breath. I had a look earlier and he is definately teething. I let him lick the puppy toothpaste off my finger as the brush was too painful for him. Since then the smell is still slightly there but it's much much better. Also made him a ball with knots which he loves out of t-shirt material which he is chewing on as it's softer than a teething ring. Will definately get him a check up with the vet - I feel like a first time mother - worried about everything. But apart from the teething issue he seems to be ok - very active and eating well.
That's probably it. Dax's breath smelled HORRIBLE when he was losing his baby teeth, and it went away as soon as all of his adult teeth were in. Just make sure you brush them when they come in, Dax gets this stuff built up on his teeth and it make his breath smell terrible, and he doesn't really like his teeth/mouth touched, which is of course, how it happened in the first place.
Always take a new puppy to the vet to have them looked over. I've known many dogs who live outside on farms and a bath leaves them smelling fresh and clean. Losing baby teeth should still not cause that bad of a smell. She could have an abscessed tooth.
When I saw the age, I immediately thought it could be his teeth/breath.. Gibson smelled horrible when he was losing his baby teeth, as soon as they were all gone he had pretty much no odor at all.
