Need Advice

Good Morning, My 6 yr old Corgi Mix whom I adopted 4 wks. ago now has a raw place on her hind leg near her butt. We had her groomed last week and she had right much hair shaved due to matted hair in that area as well. Is it alright to apply Neosporin on this raw place? If not, what do I apply? Thanks for any helpful info you give.

I would have the Vet look at her to determine the cause of the raw area. I see you live in Virginia, so it may be a "hot spot" in which case Neosporin would not be appropriate. Skin problems can deteriorate, so best to take the right approach from the start when they are more easily managed.

Last week we had her groomed and the groomers had to shave the hind leg/butt area due to matted hair and I'm thinking this is a place where the shaved area on the right side has not heeled yet.
