I am brand new to this site and to corgis! I just got my new corgi puppy today and I am so happy. I've never had a dog before so I'm not sure how a new puppy is supposed to behave. Today when I brought him outside and started playing with him he rolled over and started yelping like I was hurting him. He seems pretty unsocial right now but I understand cause he's in a new place. I just feel like he doesn't want anything to do with me. Am I thinking too much about this? Or could it be something else?

Thank you!

Don't think too much of it - it could have been something else, he could have stepped on something and rolled over. I would play inside and gentle for a while. Goldy liked to chase a tennis ball rolled across the floor. For right now, try some calm, quiet play and let him get accustomed.
Hi and welcome. Yeah, don't think so much. Corgi's are great! My puppy is almost 4 months old and she's got personality for days. They are more like us than you think. I would do like DaBear said and play inside; let him get used to you. He will let you know what he likes and doesn't like.

Be patient and enjoy. I take Aly to puppy play time at PETCO. She LOVES it. She loves playing with teh other puppies and it gives me a chance to ask the trainers if her behavior is normal or not. It's great! You should try it if it's available in your town.
Thank you guys so much, he's doing much better now. He's such a good boy =]. The only problem now is potty training!! Thanks again.
