I was wondering if anyone has a growth chart/percentile chart for corgis. I took my 13 week old puppy to the vet today, and she weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz with her heavy collar on, and I asked my vet about where that put her on the charts, but he didn't seem to have one. Does anyone know if she's right on target, small, or large for her age? I'm just curious because I have not be able to find a weight chart on the web for corgi puppy growth.
Sadie was weighed at 11 weeks and was only 6lbs. Should she be bigger? Based on this pound a week thing, she is underweight. Her parents are both 20lbs. I am feeding her a little less than a cup a day, should I be trying to feed her more?
My Belle is small for her age, she's at 17# and 1-1/2 yrs old. We had her at Petsmart last night and everyone commented as to her small size When we got her at 8 weeks, her mom was about 30#. Belle plays alot real hard but also rests alot. She never has been a big eater of her food, but begs all the time for table scraps. I guess we have a small sized doggie.
Freya at almost 6 months is 17 pounds. I think she needs to shed a pound or two as I feel she's a little chunky. I may just switch to adult food after 6 months. I'm not sure if she's on track or not in terms of growth. She's healthy though.
We've been wondering the same thing with our Pembroke Talula. She's 22 weeks old and weighs 19 lbs. Is this too big? My boyfriend seems to think she's going to be huge, but she doesn't seem like she's being overfed and we exercise her a lot.
After reading all of this discussion, I went and weighed Emma, and at 5 1/2 months, she's 14 pounds. The vet told me 20 lbs. would be a good size for her, so I guess she's going to be small. Her mother was on the small side, but her dad weighed 25 lbs. Emma is on the thin side, I think, but she doesn't wolf down her food, so I think I'm feeding her plenty. I don't want her to get overweight!
Mickey is 8 months old and weighed in at 15.8...I think he will be a small little guy. We have no idea about his parents or background as we got Mickey at a shelter but I love him small! :) Should I expect alot more weight after 8 months. The vet said no I shouldnt expect any more but that seems a bit extreme for him to not gain ANYMORE...but wondering what you guys think?
At 8 months Freya is still at 18 pounds. The vet seems to think she isn't going to get any bigger than this. I know her mom was around 30 pounds and her dad was 20 pounds--huuuge difference. Not sure what to expect. Freya has gotten longer though, well it seems like that. She can still wear her baby collar too. I guess I'll find out come November when she's around1 years old. I want to get her a special collar by then.
I don't know if my girl is just small, but she's certainly growing quickly. She gained a pound in one week. Next time I find out is next week when I take her in for her last Bordetella shot.
Our Mello is a big and strong pup. She was 9 lbs at 10 weeks old. She is a cardi though, I think they are a bit bigger and heavier than pembrokes. Our pem was a lot smaller at 10 weeks.
