My 10 y/o rescued Corgi "Joey" has been dealing with the effects of suspected pemphigus for a year. My original posts dealt with the lesions on his pads but lately his eyes seem to be involved and it is progressing rapidly.
In the past 2 months the lower margin and corner of his eyes have begun to thicken, and now they are crusting and bleeding.
Joey's eyes are getting full of mucus. Yes, we visited the vet!
Vet 1 (a holistic vet near my cabin) is going to put Joey on COLOSTRUM to stimulate his immune system.
Vet 2 (in town) agrees with that but also is Rxing TETRACYCLINE, NIACINAMIDE in addition to the METHYLPREDNISONE that he's been on this year. For the bleeding crusty margins we are using an antibiotic/steroidal cream.
I haven't gotten up to the cabin to see the vet for the colostrum yet but things seem to be progressing TOO fast.
Does anyone have experience/ideas that might help little Joey?

I have no experience with this, and I'm sure you've searched the web but I did find this forum link that has some information.

I hope your little Joey is doing okay and you and him are in my thoughts and prayers. Pemphigus is a hard disease to treat if I've been reading right. I'm glad you went to a holistic vet. What do you feed Joey? I'm sure there a few diet related things to do that can help him out, though you may already know of them. Hope he's getting better!
