"Walk Me Slip Harness"???

My corgi, like many, is a tugger when walking.  Right now I use an "Ezy-Dog" harness that works pretty well.  I recently read about a harness made in Australia called the "Walk Me Slip Harness".  Does not seem to be for sale in the States but directly from Australia.  Has anyone here used one?See More

Colorado Corgi Needs HOME

Posted on January 12, 2012 at 12:16pm 10 Comments

Friends have been fostering "PUMPKIN", a 7 y/o sable/white spayed F Corgi since her sister and hubby were transferred to Okinawa.  They found that they cannot move Pumpkin there and also face further deployments.  The foster folks have had the Corgi for nearly a year and can't do this much longer.  Colorado Corgi Rescue is very limited in its resources and facilities and can't accept any more dogs now.  Further there seems to be a shortage of DEMAND for Corgis here in the Colorado Springs…

Goodbye, Little Joey

Posted on June 1, 2011 at 6:30pm 31 Comments

Corgi owners were always so kind in their remarks and advice for my little warrior.  Joey went to the Rainbow Bridge today, June 1st.  His autoimmune condition known as erthyma multiforme, consumed him.  I adopted Joey 3 years ago and we have fought through bleeding paws, crusts and bleeding eye margins and the lethargy and depression that accompanies autoimmune conditions.   A confirmed Sheltie owner, Joey opened my eyes to a whole new world of dog.....I've never owned a dog with a…

Not All Herding Dogs Are The Same...............

Posted on June 1, 2008 at 10:50pm 10 Comments

After the death of my trusted Sheltie (Tigger) I tried unsuccessfully to find a "replacement". Then I saw "Joey" on a rescue site. He was labeled "Sheltie" but after several emails I found that the rescue group had mis-identified Joey as a Sheltie!!! Nonetheless I thought he was cute, darling, perfect. The description sounded too good to be true.

According to the foster Mom Joey spent the first 5 years of his life with a family that did not abuse him but neglected him. Their medical… Continue

He looks like has been having a lot of fin according to your pictures. Is he doing a lot better with not wanting to be around people or getting a lot of affection?

I love Joey's markings. Wellington has always let us hold him. Even now he lets us pick him up as long as we scratch his belly! LOL
