i was wondering if anyone has gotten the pro heart shot for their dogs. the vets in my area no longer carry the pill form for heart worms and i dont trust the topical heart worm prevention. i know, its weird but its just how i am so the vet i work at asked if i would like to do pro heart for baden as it last for 6months and is only $20 so it saves me a lot of money and having to shove a pill down his throat every month. i know it was recalled awhile back so it does make me a little hesitant

lol glad i could remind u :) and thank you so much for the info! it really did help. i was going to buy a 12month supply of the iverheart for only $40 on the dr. fosters and smiths website but since its not as effective as it use to be what would u personally recommend? as i was using interceptor and sentinal but they closed there plant for awhile so theres no place to buy that now, even on line

hmmm thats a good question. Maybe do trifexus adn get flea and heartworm taken care of in one pill? Or just stick with the Iverheart because some is better than none and if you give it right it will still help

i was going to give trifexus a try but then i seen how much it was for just a 6month supply, $112 (yikes!) and since i have two that could get expensive. i always gave iverheart to teddy and he never got heartworms so i guess i gave it right :) lol i always put it in cheese on the 16th of every month

I've never heard of the shot. I use Heartgard Plus and I often order it from 1-800-Petmeds. They call up my vet and get an authorization.
