As any of you who have been following my posts know, we had a stray Corgi show up and have adopted him. He had issues with a leash (I suspect he had been punished by being tied/chained up), so our solution was to put a harness on him. It has worked wonders and makes walking him a breeze. Because it helped with him so much, we got one for our other Corgi, Kadi. She had a totally different reaction to hers and decided it was something to eat. We got the conventional style harnesses and I am wondering what most people prefer? Conventional or Step-in type? If we tried the Step-in type, do you think that would solve her eating it? Also, do you measure the same way for both types?

Hi Chris,

I cant say anything about the conventional style harness but I got the step in one for Kabu since i felt it would be easier to put on.  Kabu also thought it was something to eat and still does...  It's is still a task trying to put it on.I would put my wrist though the hole (where the legs go) like I'm hand cuffing myself and then i would grab his two paws and slip it on rather then have him actually step in them.  Gotta be quick! and as for measuring.. err i make it a little bigger when i initially had him wear it and adjusted accordingly once it was on him.

Err hope that helps..

Thanks! It's good to know Kadi isn't the only one that thinks it is fine dining cuisine! LOL

Our Boston is dog aggressive, so that's good to know!

read the collar FAQ.

I like our over-the-head modified Martingales.

I find those step-in harnesses inconvenient when you unclip them; they get all twisted up and you have to untangle them.

So I never unclip our step-in car safety harnesses; I pull them over the dog's head and fold the forefeet through the chest loop.  Very quick when you get used to it.

Thanks, I'll go look there!

Hello,
I have had both styles and i honestly love them both but if i had to choose i would say step in:)
