So this started about a week ago, usually outside.
Shiro would get these reverse sneezing attacks, lasting for 10-20 seconds every time we go outside. He'd have 2-3 of them at a time.
Is this "allergies"? Should I be worried?

Umm, nobody's corgi ever does that?
If you are certain that it is indeed reverse sneezing, then sudden change in temperature and other irritants can be a contributing factor, when it happens again, massage Shiro's throat will shorten the episode.
OK it sounds like snoring, but faster. I've seen dogs on Dogs 101 do that and it was the same.
He used to do it sometimes when he got reeeeally excited. Now it's like every time we go outside. I have to stop and let him finish, he can't go and do it at the same time. Sometimes it happens when he jerks the leash.
I'll try to massage the throat and see what happens.
I saw my neighbor's corgi do that too. She said "allergies", but I'm not sure.
I don't think it's allergies, but I could be wrong! I think it's usually an irritant, like when we sneeze after breathing in dust.
Yep, that's what he does
Sidney gets them, but not on a regular basis like you described. It reminds me of when we took a trip to Washington DC in the summertime. IT was broiling outside, and we were visiting museums on the mall where the air conditioning was very welcoming. Everytime we went from inside to outside, my daughter would have a sneezing fit! Every single time. We figured it was the temp change and had a laugh at her expense. I wondered why it affected her and not the rest of us on a consistent basis.
Lyla and Sky both used to do this. When I changed how I do their diet, the reverse sneezing also went away. I don't know if that was the cause or just coincidence.
Reverse sneezing is a fairly common thing and nothing really to worry about, I can be caused by allergies, nasal irritants, or nasal inflammation. Just be on the look out for any nasal discharge, or blood.

An episode can be stopped if the dog is stimulated to swallow by either massaging the throat or briefly pinching off the nasal openings. Sometimes opening the dogs mouth and gently pulling on the dogs tongue or giving the dog something to eat and drink can also stop the reverse sneezing episode ( what I do is take the palm of my hand and place it over the nostrils, forcing her to breath threw her mouth)

Sense its happening a lot, I would at least call your vet and see what he thinks, your little guy may need a antihistamine.
Thanks!
He doesn't do it as frequently anymore, only in the morning. I'll keep an eye on him for another week then take him to the vet if there's no improvement.
Tag has these attacks. Our Vet says it is allergies and possibly athsma. When the attacks occur, holding her nose works, as does opening her mouth and getting her to swallow. Vigorous rubbing or her throat seems to help as well. She resists all this, as the attack usually come while the pack is vigorously playing and she doesn't want to miss out. They can be quite concerning, sometimes even to the point her tounge gets somewhat blue. The Linny gets them as well, but as they stop whenever you pick him up, we think he's imitating Tag to get us to pick him up, as that's his preferred mode of travel.

Whenever she has bad days, she gets a dose of benadryl. She also has medicine that gets placed in a vaporizor for inhalation therapy. She doesn't like the benadryl, as it makes her sleepy, but she likes the vaporizor. In fact, all the pack likes the vaporizor. When we set it up, we place her in a crate and put the device so that it blows toward the crate. When we come backe, usually there are at least two more corgis laying near the setup as well, lol. As I look at the bottle of medicine that goes in the vaporizor, it has no trade or generic name, so I'll have to wait until my wife gets home and ask her what it is, as she handles all things vetrinarian.
Inquires have produced the name of the other medication. Albuterol. Surprise, surprise!
