Here's the question to all the crafty dog owners.I have a ton of uncooked bacon in the fridge, it's a little old, but not spoiled yet. - We've got Shiro from Dalarno PWC, Virginia. He's very active and keeps me busy. He loves to walk in parks and woods, run on huge open spaces like a madman and most of all play in water. Kiddie pool, bathtub, stream, anything would do.
Shiro really made my life a lot happier. He's goofy, loving and snuggly puppy, the best furry friend I could wish for.
Betty used to be my dad's dog, he moved out of state and asked me to look after her for a year. He used to keep her crated 24/7 letting her out to do her business in the backyard and eat. Sure enough she's very hyper and not very well socialized. Nevertheless, she and Shiro love each other, they play all day long and sleep side by side. She's a much happier dog now, and doesn't ever has to stay in her crate. I don't think my dad is getting her back :)

If you read my blog post about my dad's dog Betty you know what situation she was in and what kind of dog she is.
In short, my dad kept her restricted to the kitchen and backyard 24/7 for the past year. She spends significant amount of time in her cage and is never taken out for walks.
Being a boxer mix she is extrmely hyper and needy, constantly wants attention and playtime. Will whine if left alone and destroy things.

We ran out of Origen puppy formula and it was time to switch to adult food anyways. I know everyone says that the switch should be gradual, but Shiro eats a large variety of meats along with his kibble (not at the same time) so I felt it wuold be OK to start a new food right away.
He usually gets cooked chiken, ground beef or turkey, sometimes pork every other day, and when I switched from Innova to Origen he didn't have any problems at all.

Advantage horrid smell

I switched Shiro from Frontline to Advantage because it was way cheaper and many people said it's better. Has anyone noticed that horrid and nauseating smell it has? I couldn't go near my dog for the first 2 days and it's still lingering. Also it only works for a couple weeks, then he gets fleas anyways. It's so annoying, isn't it supposed to protect for a month?

The four legged oldest human’s friends demonstrate real smartness such as riding the Moscow metro every morning to get from their suburban places of living to the fat regions of Moscow center. They are gone!
I stopped Innova Large Breed Puppy food about 3 weeks ago and started feeding him homecooked ground turkey with carrots, green peas and broccoli with little bit of garlic and olive oil. A week later I added Orijen Puppy Food. So now he gets delicious homemade for breakfast and high quality kibble for dinner.
He is not itching as bad anymore, only sometimes ears and chest, the eye bugers got a bit worse for 2 weeks (I was warned by a friend-breeder that it would… Continue

Derek said… - No, I have to have surgery and I know the doctor is going to say loose weight. I just cut soda out of my diet over the winter (along with some evil foods) and I lost 30 lbs. I will go back on that diet again this winter when I am not working crazy hours and trying to stay awake. I have lost half the weight I want to. The 3.00 a day comment is from college. I gained all the weight living on ramen noodles, (bread) and soda. I was working 3 jobs and going to school full time. I could go for 2 days with no food, but I drank a lot of soda and gave myself an ulser (sp). In the end I was absolutely exhausted, living on 4 hours of sleep a day maybe, but I graduated Magnum Cum Laude (sp) and only had $7,000 college debt, and I had that paid off in 2 years.
I just never stopped moving. That was one of the reasons Dad wanted me to get a dog. She calms me and slows me down. Otherwise all I would ever do is work and not have fun. Corgi's are therapists, heating pads, running partners, comedians, and philosophers in a cute furry package.
